The society:

The ‘Society of the Friends of the Lengau Giant’, which was founded in April 2005, strives to honour the memory of Franz Winkelmeier.

With the support of the local council, a ‘Giant Trail’ with information boards mapping out the giant’s life has been created in his memory.

A grave of honour in a recess beside the entrance to the Parish Church of Lengau corresponds to Franz Winkelmeier’s size.

Efforts are underway to secure the existing utensils, documents, photos etc. relating to F.W. which are currently privately owned by various families, and to exhibit these in a museum so that they are publicly accessible.
